Thank you to all the volunteers who came out yesterday morning and raked, swept and bagged garbage and leaves from the streets and island. A particularly strong shout out to the Baptist Church “Odd Job” squad who tackled the important, but smelly, job of cleaning up the shoreline on the island and to Chris and Beth who picked up all of the garbage bags. To everyone who helped or cheered us on – PRIDE in our community is our motto.
Tomorrow is Spring Clean Up day in the ‘Port. Join us at Town Hall for coffee and snacks at 9:30. Bring a group or join some of your neighbours. After a couple of hours of raking and bagging leaves and other loose garbage, finish the morning off with a BBQ at the Spring. Please bring your rakes, gloves and wear a brightly coloured top. Bags are provided by the Village.
Please join us on Saturday morning, as we pull together to clean up the Village. Come to Town Hall at 09:00 a.m. for coffee and muffin and receive your work assignment. By noon, the work will be done and Frank and Mark will have the BBQ fired up at the Spring for lunch. See you Saturday!
Saturday, May 14 will be the 2nd Annual Volunteer Town Clean up Day in the ‘Port. Last year we had 35 people show up to rake, pick up and bag leaves and garbage for a few hours. Our Village was sparkling after their efforts.
Let’s put our best foot forward again this year! Please join us at Town Hall at 09:00 on May 14. Wear a brightly coloured top/t-shirt and bring your rake and gloves. Town Hall will supply the coffee and muffins, the post clean-up BBQ at the Spring and the garbage bags. Come with a group of friends and you will be given an assignment where you can all work together or come alone and join some of your neighbours.
Join the clean up crew and enjoy a morning of getting the Village ready for the summer!
