A resident has reported seeing a black bear on Bedford Street near the beer store/restaurant area in the Village.

If you see a roaming bear, please report the sighting to the MNR at 1-866-514-2327.   In an emergency situation it is reported to OPP by 911 or the local police number.

An example of an emergency situation:

·         enters a school yard when school is in session

·         enters or tries to enter a residence

·         wanders into a public gathering

·         kills livestock/pets and lingers at the site

·         stalks people and lingers at the site
