A few highlights of the meeting include:

Committee of the Whole supported the recommendation from Staff to put a heavy truck restriction on Bedford St from Concession to Main St in an effort to reduce the load on the street.  Council will make its final decision at Council on August 6.

Due to many complaints this past year of motor vehicles, including 4 wheelers driving through Lockwood Park, Committee of the Whole has supported a new by-law prohibiting any motor vehicles in the park with the exception of service vehicles.

Committee of the Whole directed Staff to publish Requests for Proposal for winter maintenance (snow removal) 2019-22.

End of summer pot luck is being planned by Town Hall for Sunday, September 1 on Church St from Bedford to Spring.  It will begin at 5:30 p.m. and everyone is invited – locals, visitors, cottagers.  We want to wrap up summer as a community.

Staff will be providing information about the changes to the Waste and Recycling program, which go into effect on September 1.  Hydro meter reading will soon be done electronically for all smart meters.
