Councillor Carty and I had a lot of fun with the trick-or-treaters at Town Hall tonight. The Minion visited us regularly … hmmm – who is the Minion?

The “MIGHTY MAYORS”, (8 of the 13 Mayors in Leeds & Grenville), showed up today along with 24 other teams for the Fire Truck Pull in Brockville. This annual event raises money for the YMCA of Eastern Ontario.
“The Mighty Mayors” participated to help raise awareness for this important event and support the fundraising. Organizers hope to raise $100K, which will go a long way for services and programs.
We visited with lots of other like-minded people and had a blast when it came our turn to pull the fire truck.
Thanks to Mayor Wren for “pulling” us into the event, MPP Clark for cheering us on and all of the organizers and volunteers.

Each year, we take some time to come together as a community to honour and remember those who survived Residential Schools and the children who never came home.
Thank you to our young readers – Florence, Ella, Sam, Macey and Fred – , Mireille LaPointe for her teachings, the Better Together group, Councillor Ami Carty and all the community members who attended.

MEDIA RELEASE
There have been several break-ins over the past couple of weeks in the Village of Westport. The suspects have entered unlocked garages and sheds overnight and removed owner’s belongings.
Community members are asked to:
Lock your doors to prevent thefts from your property.
Make a police report (1-888-310-1133) if you have been a victim of theft. This will support the Village’s request for night patrols by the OPP.
Call the police (911) and report any suspicious behaviour.
For additional information contact Town Hall at 613-273-2191.
