The concrete is scheduled to be poured this week. Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding. The new sidewalk will be worth the wait.
The Village recognizes the support from the federal and provincial governments for the grant to complete the sidewalk. We appreciate that Westport continues to get its fair share of funding for crucial infrastructure from other orders of government.
Flo’s SmartTWO EV Charging Station was installed today in the municipal parking lot on Bedford St! A little tweaking required yet and signage to be posted next week. Exciting!
Work continues at the Serenity Garden, beside the fire hall on Spring St. Some heavy lifting and raking are on the schedule for Monday and we could use a few volunteers Work gloves, shovel, hard rakes and proper footwear is helpful.
Work will begin at 09:00.
Please email Patti Mueller pmueller@villageofwestport.ca if you are interested in helping.

Every child matters. On September 30th, people across Canada wear orange and participate in Orange Shirt Day events to recognize and raise awareness about the history and legacies of the residential school system in Canada.
Congratulations to the local Better Together Circle (BTC) volunteers who hosted the community Orange Shirt Day on Friday in Lockwood Park, Westport. The gathering began with Elder Mireille LaPointe smudging for the participants while explaining the purpose of the smudge. There was much to do and see including artwork by Rideau Vista Public School students who were in attendance. Elder LaPointe closed the afternoon with a circle and finally with quiet reflection for the things we are grateful for.
Volunteers include Susan Withers, Lana Nolan. Yasmin Khan, Delvalle Lewis DelSilva, Jayne Walker, and Sandy Prentice. Librarians: Vickie Stevens, Pam Stuffles. Beading: Maggie Stewart.
