Hat’s off to the Westport Arts Council for organizing the “Fabric of our Lives”, a tribute and celebration of all things “quilted”. There are six locations for you to be inspired by hundreds of quilts! Stop at the museum first to register, beginning at 9:30. Show runs until 3:00 p.m. today.
The Arts Council has asked everyone to get involved … so please remember to put your quilts out today – on your front porch, in the garden, in your front window!
Westport Arts Council held a summer fund raiser called “Art on the Street”. 6 artists each painted a different Muskoka wooden chair, using a Canadian theme to celebrate our 150Birthday. Tickets were sold on the chairs for the past 8 weeks. At MUSICwestport yesterday (Saturday, August 19) my ticket was drawn and I won the Rideau Vista Public School Grade 2/3 chair. I am thrilled! I met the artists in June when I picked the chair up and am so happy that it is now in a place of honour on my front verandah. Well done!
