As the US Postal Creed goes ….”Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom”, this was the same commitment from Peter Evans, Public Works Supervisor, to get the swings open for the week-end. And with the help from Derek and Jamie, they are!
The rain has slowed down the completion of the spinner, hopefully some dry weather will allow the cement to cure so the mulch can be put in place. Still some cleaning up to do, but the swings are in use. Thank you Peter, Derek and Jamie and Dave from Aarde!
And look who I found enjoying themselves this afternoon?
Thanks to everyone who supported the Village in last year’s Aviva Insurance voting, we received a $10K grant for accessible playground equipment. It is being installed today in Lockwood Park. No tax dollars were used for any of the additions or changes in Lockwood. A Trillium grant provided funding for the stage, an Aviva grant covered the new playground equipment and the Lockwood Foundation donated $25K and matched funds ($75K) raised by the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. Congratulations and thank you to everyone who has contributed … the park has become a very popular place to spend time.
Come by the park later this afternoon and take a swing or a turn on the new equipment.
Congratulations and thank you to everyone who voted for the AVIVA #BETTER TOGETHER $10,000 grant. The Village’s application included a request for playground equipment that all children can enjoy. I can’t wait to sit back and watch children and their parents and grandparents enjoying the park later this summer.
The Village has submitted an idea to AVIVA in an effort to obtain funding for two pieces of playground equipment for Lockwood Memorial Park. The top 50 vote getters in the Small Ideas category will each receive $10,000.
